Whether you are looking to make money with your affiliate offers, your own products or services, running a Facebook ad effectively is key to your success. What I am about to show you are 5 elements you need to look into to making your Facebook ad campaigns a success. I could be charging $200-$500+ for this guide, but because you are a reader of our blog, I’m just going to lay it out for you right here on the table so that you can see how valuable this information can be for your business!
Step #1 – Find your offer
Finding the right offer to promote to your target audience should be the first step you need to take in order to get your feet wet. You need to find out which offers you would like to promote whether it be an affiliate or your own offer. Then from there, you can choose how you would like to funnel your visitors by creating a squeeze page to capture your visitor’s or to just directly send them to your sales page (not recommended). I would always recommend that you funnel your visitors from Facebook to some sort of a squeeze page (depending on the campaign).
#2 – Find Your Target Market
There are 4 ways I use to finding my target market and if you are not specifically targeting who you want to hit up, you are leaving money on the table. Most of the time if you are targeting a general prospective market, you won’t get as much results as you would if you were to target more specific audiences.
– Social Lead Freak : I use a software called Social Lead Freak and it allows me to download the Facebook UIDs of individuals who are active participants in a Facebook page or group. This software will let you download those people who are engaging users such as people who have liked a post, commented on a post, shared a post, etc. These individuals are more likely to click on your ad and take action, than those who have just ‘liked’ the page and browsing around. By targeting these individuals for your Facebook ads, you will see a DRAMATIC change in the amount of engaged users who are actively clicking on your offers and liking your pages.

– Facebook Groups : You will find that many of your audiences who are really passionate about a particular subject are often on these Facebook groups. In order to be a part of a group, you have to take the extra step to join that group and be an active participant. These are much better than targeting Facebook pages because often times pages can have many bots and freeloaders who are not interested in buying but just ‘liking’ the page.
– Audience Insights : Audience insights are one of the best places to find out more about your target audience. With Audience insights, you will be able to find out who your target demographics are such as their age, gender, type of cars they drive, other favorite pages they like, etc. This is a powerful tool to use with your Facebook targeting because you will be able to find out how your audience will react to your offers.

#3 – Create Your Graphics
When creating your graphics, you want to make sure that you don’t go over the 20% text rule on Facebook. Here are some sample graphics which you can use as examples for your images. As you can see below, Ad #3 was the one getting the most attention out of all of them. You would not know how an ad will work out until after you have done your testing to find out which ad your target demographic is responding to more by clicks and conversions. It’s always good to split test different ads to finding out which ones work best for you!

#4 – Create Your Ad
When creating your ad, you want to be very specific at what you are offering your visitors. If you are selling something such as a product or a service, you want to make sure that you let your audience know exactly what they are getting. You can offer them a lead magnet and a hook such as a “free ebook” or a “free course” on how to do x, y, z but you must be very specific or else your audience will not respond very kindly. You want to give them something for free or give them something of value to gain their trust in which then you can gain their business.
#5 – Split Test
The last thing you want to do is split test and finding out which offers work best, which lead magnet works best, which graphics work best and which target demographics are converting best for you! The difference between a marketer doing 5-6 figures a month compared with a marketer doing 0 a month is the marketer who is doing 5-6 figures WORKS HARD. Creating an ad and hoping it will stick and make you millions of dollars overnight will not work. You will need to constantly split test different offers and split test your results so that you will actually start making some money. If you are starting, I would set aside at least $100-$500+ of spending money just to get your feet wet in the game. Unless you have a golden ticket and someone has given you their exact campaigns as well as all of their target market creatives, then you are golden but even then your campaign will eventually die and you will need to create another one. I would encourage you to always split test and create different campaigns (10+ per day if you are ambitious and have the budget).
Making money on Facebook is not rocket science and if you have the ambition and the drive to go out there and do it, then I will guarantee that you will be successful. Facebook advertising is very appealing especially to newbies, but once you get into it and start spending money, you want to make sure that you are doing it the right way. Facebook does not mind taking your money and milking you for everything that you have and you have to make sure that you take these steps I’ve mentioned above to get you the best results.
